someone who always jumps at the opportunity to mourn/ express deep sadness, usually over the death of someone, or the occurance of something, that has essentially nothing to do with that individual

Pete: Did you see Jalen? She wrote "RIP Oscar" all over her arm! She talked to him maybe once?!

Sam: Yeah, man. What a tragedy whore!

OR

Alice: Wow. I feel so terrible that Joanne has that flesh eating disease! I think that we should all sit with her at lunch!

Stacey: You're such a tragedy whore, Alice! You called Joanne fugly last week. You just want to shine in her sympathy glow.

tragic

used to describe a person who lacks any sort of self-awareness or conception of how others perceive them; often characterized as woefully oblivious to their gaping flaws, which prevent them from achieving others’ respect or appreciation. A tragic person (see: trag) typically engages in behaviors that they wrongfully believe to be iconic, while most external parties find these antics cringe-inducing and/or trite. To refer to someone as “tragic” is an all-encompassing derision that asserts a person’s utter lack of redeemable qualities, coalesced by physical unattractiveness, dullness, incompetence, ill temper, social ineptitude, and idiocy.

Person 1: Did you see what he posted?

Person 2: Unfortunately, yes. He is so tragic.

tragitainment

The type of TV show that presents unfortunate mishaps, accidents and disasters as entertainment. Tragedy + entertainment= tragitainment.

TV shows such as 'What Went Wrong?', 'When Weather Goes Bad', 'Pet Rescue', 'Air Crash Investigation'. And so on. Tragitainment tells the tragic tale of boy swept away by flood, airshow crash spectators incinerated, NASCAR driver baked to crisp in horror smash etc.
