The act of exchanging spirit fingers with a friend when coming to an agreement- quite similar to the act of a handshake.

Don’t worry brother I’ll get him for you.
Liverpool is a small city, I bump into you footballers all the time. Anyone who knows me knows a Sean promise is a real promise

Party promises are those "plans" you make at the end of social gatherings where one, if not both, promisers never actually intend on following through.
"Dude, we should totally grab coffee sometime soon!"
"Yea, totally!"
(one or both thinking: "this coffee date will never happen, but I can stop talking to them now")

A made up expression when someone is trying to avoid committing to a "full" promise, so they have an excuse (loop hole) when they don't do what they have "half promised". A glorified way of saying "maybe".
Persons who tend to try to get away with using a "half promise" are:
a) Those who will not promise often, because they take them very seriously, and are a person of their word.
b) Those who are not good at keeping promises.
Note: In final reiteration, do not be fooled, this is not an acceptable form of promise.

Amanda: Will you clean the kitchen later?
Nick Ross: Yes.
Amanda: Promise?
Nick Ross: I half promise.
Amanda: That's not even a real thing! This isn't a 50/50 game!
Nick Ross: I knew that wouldn't work!

I told my mom that I would stay focused 100% of the time while doing schoolwork, but it was merely a Stiles promise to get her to go away.
Hitler promised that Germany would prosper under his rule, but the promise was revealed to be a Stiles promise after he shot himself in 1945

A ring a boy gives a girl, usually in college, to signify he intends on marrying her, but that they’ll wait until they’re older. Usually a very simple ring (for broke college students), with a little heart in some way. Can be very romantic.
Boy: “I love you, I got you this promise ring to show we’re gonna get married as soon as we graduate and I have the money to get you a real one”
Gilr: “Omg, I love you! Thank you!”
