For example for when someone is out of the loop or doesn’t get/understand a reference of a popular meme/audio/term. Another way it can be use is if someone is zoning or not paying attention they are “offline”. Lastly it can be used when someone is not currently physically there.

person a: *zoning out*
person b: *looks over to person a* Bro’s offline.
