Leinster - LONS-STER - noun
Affluent Province in the East of Ireland, home to Kilkenny City, Naas, Gorey and the Irish Capital Dublin.
Populated by a diverse range of people hailing from backwards rural areas like Urlingford to cosmopolitan Dublin, the financial and social capital posessing most of the country's top bars, property locations, business houses and eateries.
Most famous for it's Champion rugby team based in Dublin 4. Leinster rugby's spiritual home is the romantic Donnybrook but lately matches have taken place in the Royal Dublin Showgrounds (RDS) and a planned move to Lansdowne Road as tickets sales soar.
Leinster are statistically the best supported team in Celtic rugby as well as the most solvent. They posses a proverbial who's who of Irish and International rugby talent. Leinster are currently the Magner's League Champions of the Celtic country and are favoured to lift this season's Heineken Cup.
Despite a devastating backline and rich domestic rugby heritage Leinster are often handicapped by their new found "fan base" drawn from Dublin's outer suburbia commuter belt, many of these new fans are members of the OLSC and struggle to comprehend the more basic of rugby's laws.

Plural (leisurists) Word history: Based on the word leisure with the addition if "ist" as in botanist, scientist. Sample sentence: <My life as a leisurist was mostly filled with sailing, cruising and voyaging in my yacht, interspersed with lengthy bouts of salaried employment to cover costs.>

My wife and I are sailing cruisers who live on our yacht and spend extended periods cruising in the Pacific. In 1994 when asked by some friends if we had a name for ourselves I said that we were Leisurists. We all said “Wow, that is a good word.” We have been using it ever since as an occupation name. We use it on all forms and documents that require our Occupation from the TAX Department to air travel and Customs and Immigration. After inventing the word we looked for it in a range of dictionaries and on the internet and found that it was not being used. In 2000 it was still not being used except in our Webb Site. Then I sent the word to Merriam-Webster who stated that its usage would be monitored on the internet. If used it would be included. Today, 6th December 2007, there are 1050 hits for leisurist and 350 for leisurists on Google and I still cannot find it in any dictionaries.
