They reminisce on when they were “savagely attacked” by the indigenous but also fail to mention their intentional participation in genocide. Every year in August, they throw Herzog Fest which consists of many traditions like polka music, German food, food trucks, and belligerently drunk red necks. Many people here still argue the history of the confederate flag and what it represents. You know that place where they expect you to be their cookie cutter idea of what they think someone is supposed to be? The rumor that everyone is related to another is true but many locals do not consider 3rd cousins close enough to matter. No use defending yourself here because they don’t care if they cause others harm. They claim to be perfect but won’t admit to driving out POC and intentionally perpetuating systemic oppression. They don’t take mental health seriously until the kid offs themselves then they throw a whole event to “bring awareness”. Uses their strong Catholic roots as excuses for the entitlement they subject others to. The schools would be private Catholic schools if they could pull it off but unfortunately for them, there are too many obstacles (people) in their way.

Aside from finding these Emporians in the woods you will often find them at the lake engaging in water sports.

We went "driving" in Emporia, KS with some home grown hotties(dirt road driving and or smoking pot) and hit a messy patch of road so we ended up mudding. We were mudding and ended up stuck so we got out and went fishing ie. drinking.
