A bowel movement characterized by the acute, forceful passing of stool after having held it in for an extended period of time or as a result of constipation. Accompanied by a sense of relief and satisfaction similar to that of an orgasm. The word, indeed, is a combination of “nut,” a common colloquial verb meaning (of a male) “to ejaculate semen,” and “butt,” a colloquial term for buttocks.
While related to the relief one experiences after a bout of diarrhea, the stool passed as a result of a buttnut is typically solid or semi-solid, and sometimes even compacted. Conditions leading to the possibility of a buttnut include changes in diet such as a sudden increase or decrease in the consumption of dietary fiber or heavy consumption of highly acid and spicy foods like Buffalo wings, especially in combination with alcohol.
Note that a buttnut proper is not simply a large bowel movement. Rather, a buttnut proper is characterized by a feeling of tension and pressure combined with the inability to pass the stool giving way suddenly to an acute bowel movement.
