Stair Gang

A Stair Gang is a strong group friends or classmates who tend to dislike or not enjoy their current class so they decide to ditch. The usual ditch is hanging out on a set of 'stairs' that they hang out on, this causes them to bond and become an unstoppable group that will never be broken apart.

Classmate 1: "Hey why do we even need to learn this stuff?"
Classmate 2: "I know we could be doing something better with our time"
Classmate 3: "Wanna ditch?"
All classmates look at each other
Everyone: "STAIR GANG!"

The Stairs Test

A term used when writing Harry Potter fanfiction (mostly on Ao3) where a character finds out they're trans by going up the "wrong" stairs in the dorms of Hogwarts. The stairs only allow one gender to come up them (Male or female), and when a canonically Male character (primarily Harry) is able to go up the stairs in a fanfic, it serves to move the plot forward.

"I was reading a fanfic the other day, and the author included the stairs test"
