A phrase commonly misused by pessimists who want to paint a negative outlook on future events and plans.
That's not salty, that's realistic.

A pessimistic person who can’t stand being labeled as such and thinks more highly of their own beliefs/experiences/opinions than others.
Pilot on intercom: “We’ve lost all our last engine, trying to perform a water landing, buckle in and follow emergency instructions.
Optimist: “I’m sure it’ll be fine.”
Pessimist: “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!”
Realist: (with silent judgement) “We’re likely time die, even though there is a chance of survival... but I’m not too hopeful, like that stupid optimist or too panicked like that pathetic pessimist...”
