Self-Friendzoned is when you accidentally put yourslef into the friendzone with someone else. This is when they might have considered you as more than a friend, but you put yoursled right into the friendzone with someone you like. You can self-friendzone by making someone think that you are gay, or being wayyy to comfortable and honest with this person, distancing yourself from being attractive or sexy to the other person.

Girl One: How are things going with Dylan? Do you know if he likes you yet?
Girl Two: Naah. I messed everything up 'cuz we talk about everything, and now he tells me about masturbating and I tell him about my period. He'll never think I'm hot.

Friendzone

Is a misogynistic term used by males who befriend females for the soul purpose of getting in their pants, but are unable to because the female is either uninterested, dating someone already, or has some other reason.

A person who uses this term usual feels victimized because the girl doesn't dish out, and the female is characterized as being the bad guy for not reciprocating his feelings.

Guy 1: For 2 years I've listened to her problems, comforted her, took care of her when she was sick, been her friend...But she still won't dump her douche boyfriend even though I am clearly better for her. I'm stuck in the friendzone

A state of being that self-loathing people place themselves in when they are friends with someone they want to date. These people assume that the person in question, who is typically a girl, is acting with malicious intent. The truth is, the person who has been friend zoned is mainly the one at fault because they're either not growing a pair so they can ask the other person out, or they're just taking a previous rejection from the person they're pining over by being a friend that will never be more than that--the closest they can be to their love interest.

If you're stuck in the friend zone, it's just as much your fault as it is theirs, if it's not mostly your fault.
