The state of being denied relationship status because the other considers you a "Friend they don't want to lose". This more commonly affects men, as women get too into the friendship to consider the other in a sexual or romantic way. Men are more likely to stick it out and try and get into her pants and/or heart. Most women do it unconsciously, they like the person so much they don't want risk losing the friendship. They would also say they don't want to lose the friend as an attempt to soften the rejection.
James: "Hey I really like you, so do you want to go see a movie or something."
Mary: "I would really like that, except you're such a good friend that I can't think of you like that."

Get the Friend Zonemug. Basically where a man ends up when a girl finds out that she can make him his "boy friend" without having sex or other equally gratifying contact with him. It's an especially bad place for the guy, because it means that he's in for relentless crying and bitching and suffering when she's in-between boyfriends. In other words, you're the first person she goes to when she needs a cry and a bitch, but the last person she'd actually date or have sex with. If she asks you how to get a man, knowing you like her, then just shoot yourself right then, or move on.

Get the Friend Zonemug. A term used by incredibly butthurt little boys in relation to the fact that the girl they like doesn't want to fuck them. It's an excuse the little boy makes to make the girl look like she's doing something wrong when the little boy is really just over egotistical and/or an asshurt sore loser. The little boy just doesn't want to accept the fact the girl doesn't want him.

Get the friend-zonedmug. friendzoned is basically a preemptive rejection where people get too comfortable with someone and see them as only a special conversation/sharing info partner 'a friend' and unconsciously reject the person as a sexual opportunity and would be shocked and appalled if that was brought up. Its a sickness that runs rampant in todays society and must be stopped.
