This word is used to greet people or used as a suffix for someone's name showing that he/she is a close friend. This word originated in India and was derived from the name of a chewing gum company called 'Chiclets'. It is symbolised by the 🤘 emoticon on social media.

chilango

A person from Mexico City- Districto Federal. Often used as a derogatory term by Mexicans outside of Mexico City because they are seen as uppity, pretentious and snobbish. Chilangos can be perceived as "big-city types" and many are upper-class and have European influenced customs.

Can be synonymous to Fresa.

Fernando es puro chilango, solamente compra pantalones de diesel, camisas de versace y su moda y lengua es directo de España.
