Paper Town

Towns that appear to be beautiful when you look at them from afar but up close it's different, you don't look at it the same way. Up close you see the the truth that is hidden behind the beauty from a far and sometimes you wish just to see the beauty and not the truth.

Jennifer: Look how beautiful Dallas is from the hotel roof!
Katy: It's a Paper Town. It may be beautiful from here but the closer it is the less you see the beauty in it.

Paper Commitment

A California prison sentence served in County jail. Following completion of the term, the offender is transported to a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Reception Center, assigned a CDCR Number, and released on parole. A Paper Commitment suggests that the offender received favorable treatment from the District Attorney's Office.

Slim: Hey homey! That fool Sneaky just got released from jail!

Zo: What? That cat was caught up in a murder case!

Slim: Sneaky got out on a Paper Commitment. Plead to being an accessory. Got time served.

Zo: Uh huh. Sneaky's been tellin'.

Slim: Cuz there's no way a bitchmade rat witness like him gets a Paper Commitment in a murder case without signin' some statements.
