Nigerian lag is when you're playing an online game such as Call of Duty, Fifa or Battlefield, and extreme lag occurs. Involves lag spikes, skipping, bullets not registering and a ping of 400ms+.

Player: oh for fuck sake, the nigerian lag is starting to kick in bro.
