Bams

A slang term for Xanax (alprazolam), a prescription benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. “Bams” is often used in place of Xans or Xanax in conversation, making it more discreet. The term is commonly used by bammers—people who regularly or occasionally use Xanax.

“You got any bams on you? I left mine at home.”

• “I heard they had some bammers for the party.”

BAM is an acronym using the first letter of each of three hot dudes who pal around together, such as Barry, Arlo, and Mike; or Bill, Aaron, and Miles; or Beckham, Ayden, and Mason. This trio of friends is 'BAM', or 'BAM!', or the 'BAM Crew'.
