It stands for :

Lesbian
Gay
Bisexual
Transgender
Queer/Questioning
Intersex
Asexual/Aromantic

It is also an umbrella term for Queer folks, so it includes people whose labels aren't represented by the letters as well.

After the attacks or 9/11 it was renamed to LGBTQIA+ (quick in action+) so they could find osama faster
