nursing out

When a nurse suddenly becomes intensely animated and highly detailed about nursing topics, often outside of a bedside setting. Triggered by a small comment or operational issue, it involves rapid-fire explanations, clinical references, workflows, charting systems, policies, patient safety concerns, and how things should really be done. Essentially the nursing version of “nerding out,” powered by experience, passion, and professional pride.
I mentioned discharge delays and the RNs immediately started nursing out about workflows and patient safety.
