Someone who plays an online FPS and sits in one spot shooting in thing in his line of site. He never moves, and is usually fodder for a camper killer's knife. CAMPING IS NOT THE SAME AS SNIPING!! Snipers are well hidden and use sniper rifles, and normaly move after a kill so as to hidde their location. Also, covering a strategic position in a Search and Destroy or Capture the Flag mission is not camping. It is mearly a good defensive strategy. Campers are hated by most other players.

This method is effective but requires little skill and is used by noobs (people who are new to game or are unskilled) in order to get kills because they cannot get them any other way and are trying to get them as easy as possible. guarding territories that have to do with the game type or sniping does not count as camping. campers try to defend themselves by saying that it is tactically smart to do to get kills, which does not justify the fact that they suck so bad that they have to camp to get kills instead of practicing the game and getting better then other players. instead, they always use the same cheap strategy. Popular places for campers are Counter Strike, Halo 1,2,3, And Call of Duty 3,4,5, and 6.
