Indies and Emos....what is the difference and why do indies hate emos? emos don't hate indies, at least i've never met an indie-hating emo.
indies are basically non-depressed kids who like obscure bands and have cool clothing style. emos are basically depressed kids who sometimes cut themselves and like obscure bands and have cool style except with more black.
I don't understand why indie kids have to hate emos. the first emo kid was probably originally an indie who suffered some life-changing tragedy ie the death of a parent, friend, etc. so they have styles that are relatively the same. they also go with some clothes that relate to what their favorite groups wear. Besides, since when were people required to conform with other people's ideas of what they should be wearing (aka people who are called emo changing the clothing style they like because indie kids can be anal about things like that)

indie is someone who appreciates independant movies and music, they dnt just like mainstream stuff. they like random things that rnt under large labels. scene is someone who is into rock music and has skinny jeans,beads, etc. the two combined make sort of a modern punk rock border line rebellious down to earth dude/chick. think of how sum 41 look and into music like shiny toy guns and what not.

A child who follows what they are told through the 3 divine indie mandates, NME, The mighty boosh and Radio 1.
Generally dressed in awful clothes that are too thing, short or smell like piss. Love to go to concerts where everyband name begins with the word "the" whilst telling everyone else there that "I knew who they were before you ALLL".
A step above scene but a step below chav, however indie kids will have characteristics of both social groups such as stupid fringes and inability to interact with other normal people.
Most likely spotted at a kings of leon concert giving devil horns and saying "omg this is the best shit ever, I wish I could play that bland 2 chord song on my guitar". Whilst us normal kids are pounding your girlfriend and getting her pregnant.
Most likely to insult metal, rap or rock and roll but have no valid reasons as to why it's bad.. generally listen to dull 2 chord songs which all revolve lyrically about being in love with someone who doesn't love you anymore because you took too long to tell them about your love and they are now in a relationship with someone else, most likely your best friend... the girl will be called something stupid like "rose" or "ruby".
