For streamers, it's the burnout of performing for hours daily, the volatility of income based on viewer whims, and the harassment from trolls. It's a culture that breeds both addictive community and profound isolation.

Two years later, he has trauma from Twitch: carpal tunnel, a sleep schedule from hell, and a nervous twitch whenever he hears a donation notification sound. He's surrounded by thousands of 'friends' in chat but hasn't had a real conversation in months."
