shame shudder

A physiological reaction to feeling disgust, regret or shame at one's past behavior. This reaction is often unconscious; it is characterized by tightening of upper body muscles, covering one's eyes, a 'shudder' and perhaps a groan. It may be induced by one's friend reminding him/her of the behavior or by one remembering the action on their own.

Major Shaming

When people (family members, older friends, old people in general) talk crap about the major you choose in college.

Ex. #1- You're an English major! You'll never get a job with that!
Ex. #2- You're an Education major, you won't make any money in that field.
Ex. #3- We all know Liberal arts majors aren't going anywhere.

Person 1- You aren't gonna get a job with that major.
Person 2- wow that's major shaming.
