Meh

Origin: Neopolitan Dialect (Naples, Italy). It has been used for over 100 years in Italy and has somehow reached the States and gained popularity.

Definitions are most of what has been listed on Urban Dictionary however the origin has never before been given.

Meh has many, many meanings. It's truly a lovely word though I must say Americans have not quite grasped the beauty of it.
Italian Example: Meh, damillo.
Translation: Come on, give it to me. (a command)

American Example :We're going to the mall, meh. (another command: we're going to the mall and that's final)
