Moonshot Math

Hard math projects that would require the best of talents and skills from both mathematicians and math educators regionally or globally, as their monumental effort aims to positively impact the community or society.
Just as landing someone on the moon propelled and produced unprecedented payoffs and unpredictable spinoffs, by creating entirely new markets and industries, solving moonshot math problems has the potential of giving birth to new products and new businesses, and creating new jobs.

Milk Math

When a person combines milk of one percentage with milk of another in order to create milk with a lower fat content.
"Dude, I hate the way 1% milk tastes but I'm watching my weight. So I did some milk math and mixed 1% and 2% to get 1 1/2%. It's not as good as 2% milk, but it's better than 1%."

Tiger Math

Brain-unfriendly math questions that have been commissioned by superstitious owners of tuition centers in Singapore—who were unprovenly advised by feng shui masters or charlatans—to freelance writers, as the bosses believe that posing these word problems to their students or tutees would bring them good luck and prosperity in the Lunar Year of the Tiger.
It’s as if traditional Singapore math questions aren’t tough enough for students and their kiasu parents, but now with tuition or enrichment centers terrorizing their students with tiger math toughies in the name of superstition, the Year of the Tiger looks like another mathematical nightmare to those who are already suffering from math anxiety.

Florida Math

Also known as “Anti-Woke Math.” Math curriculums, textbooks, and resources that include materials that whitewash any centuries-long contributions from nonwhite and LGBT mathematicians and math educators worldwide; or contents that exclude any elements of critical race theory, social-emotional learning, journal writing, ethnomathematics, and other MAGA dislikes.
In 2022, the Department of Education rejected more than 40% of math textbooks publishers submitted, because they fell short of the “high” standards set up by Florida math curriculum censors, who work closely with puritan parents and “anti-woke” lawmakers.

Ex-Math

The logical study and application of basic mathematical principles to deduce when your significant other was last with their ex-boyfriend or girlfriend.

While founded in the scientific theory, ex-math should not be considered for a major field of study as the process is often characterized by the absence of objective and rational thought.
Girlfriend: "I wondered after I left about the age you said you were when you were with XX so I put everything in a calendar. You said you were 24 so that was a couple of months before me? :-) sorry. I try not to be curious about stuff as that is typically not a good thing. But I wondered it and so I'm just...um..saying that I was curious."

Boyfriend: "Well if you're going to use ex-math, put it on a Chinese calendar. That way I haven't been with her since last year. Does that make you feel better?"
