A (mostly eradicated) disease where an adult-oriented film/franchise is heavily reworked for children, or at least for a family-friendly audience due to its toyetic potential. Murphy's Syndrome was most prevalent from the 70s to the 90s, with specific examples including Rambo, The Toxic Avenger, The Mask, and Alien. It's a syndrome because nobody fucking knows why some stuffed shirts thought such a practice would be a good idea.
The name derives from the real name of RoboCop, Alex Murphy, one of the most well-known victims of the disease, having two shitty cartoons, a bland live-action show that only lasted one season, and two PG-13 rated films that nobody likes.

My cousin Chris grew up with RoboCop: Alpha Commando, not realizing that it was the result of Murphy's Syndrome.

"A device that you're repairing will operate **absolutely perfectly** while you have it taken apart to work on it, but then when you get it all put back together and have all the cabinet-screws re-inserted, THAT'S when the device will decide not to work again."
To lessen the chance of getting "bitten" by Murphy's Law of Post-repair Reassembly, one should double-check everything on a refurbished device before putting it back together again.

From Murphy's Law: an area of bad luck, misfortune, unlikely accidents, etc. surrounding a person or even a place. Sometimes affects others more than the focus. Can be specific to certain things like electronics, cooking, relationships, travel, etc.

"No matter where you stand, da breeze will invariably blow either towards you or in your face, causing you great difficulty in proceeding ahead and/or "cleanly"/effectively performing tasks dat involve/include vapors/particulates/liquids." (Think, Murphy's Law of Cigarette Smoke, or trying to bicycle someplace on a blustery day and da stiff wind keeps switching around so dat it's always hinderingly in your face --- never helpfully at your back --- both on your way to your destination AND on your way back home again!)
P.S. Oh yeah --- and don't even **consider** simply postponing outdoor activities till a "still spell" --- DAT will only mean multitudes of mosquitoes and black flies to torment you and make you WISH for a breeze!

Two classic examples of da infuriating effects of Murphy's Law Of Wind-Direction would be (1) trying to water your hanging-basket plants on da front porch, but da watering-can's sprinkled droplets keep blowing backwards so dat da water both largely misses your plants and gets you soaking-wet, and (2) trying to employ toss-across collecting when gathering returnables along da highway, but having many of da thrown containers just blow right back onto your side of da road.
