Plural Term of the word Fandom, refering to a community or group of fans of a television show, movie, book or other media. Most commonly used to describe fan produced media groups, such as fanfiction or fanvids.
Fans usually use the term in relation to belonging to a fan group, as an territorial identifier from one community to the next, ie: "I've come across the term whumping in the SGA fandom, but we don't use that term often in the Buffy fandom."

A fandom is simply the definition of selling your soul to the devil. It's unreversible. Choose your fandom(s) wisely.
Know that when you join a fandom, people will have many different opinions like per say twenty one pilots. When fanfictions are written for the fandom, it sparks controversy due to people thinking Josh tops or Tyler tops. (Warning: if you join the TØP fandom, you will become trash. If you are already trash, you will become ever more irrelevant because this fandom is time consuming. Say goodbye to any other social life that isn't within the fandom)
But in short that's not so short, a fandom is a community of people who come together that have a common interest. Pretty much the fanbase of a book/movie/show/band
Fun Fact!: a bandom is a combination of band and fandom, together making bandom so if you like P!ATD or PTV then you're apart of the bandom

Yet another scam from Jimmy Wales where nobody pays you anything. Ever.
If you're expecting anything from this... You are Jimmy Wales and Perkins Miller.

- My children are on Fandom now
- You monster!
- Who is Jimmy Wales?
- American-British internet entrepreneur, don't you know it from Google

A conglomeration of fans and enthusiasts of a certain TV show, book, movie, anime or comic book which includes fanfiction writers and people posting on forums about the characters in the piece of fiction. While this is mostly harmless, some fandoms can become quite annoying or exaggerate the quality of the piece of fiction. This is where they cross into fan wanking and becoming fan boys. The most annoying fandoms nowadays are usually anime fandoms and the most annoying are Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Type-Moon, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Dragonball, while it is a good anime, has some of the most annoying fans around that always brags about that old meme "It's over 9,000" and Evangelion fans once threatened the producers of the show with death threats.
Best quote about an annoying member of a fandom
Being a fan is like having a penis. Its nice to be proud of it, but don't pull it out in public and wave it in others' faces

Typically, it starts out as a great place, full of art, but soon, it backfires, turning into a pit of terrible au's (Alternate universe) and ships.
