Brimstoning

"Brimstoning" is using bible verses out of context to make a point that's really against the teachings of Jesus.

For example, someone says "Jesus said to sell your cloak and buy a sword!" and you respond "Dude, you're brimstoning me, Jesus only asked one of his disciples to do that and to bring him the sword, and he didn't use that sword as a weapon to kill anyone. He didn't even threaten anyone with it. Go read the rest of the story."

Dude, you're brimstoning me.
