Pooja / Puja in Buddhism means expressions of honour, worship and devotional attention.
Poojan is the act of doing pooja.
It means the act of worshipping / praying.

In India, land is only used after doing bhumi poojan.
At Diwali hindus perfrom Laxmi poojan.
