12ed-13lue back in 2005 had it spot on. The original "pocket rocket" was indeed Henri Richard of the HABS/Montreal Canadiens. Since then I have NEVER heard a term so abused and misused.

Pocket Rockets is basically when you get dealt a pair of aces in poker (Texas Holdem) which is the best possible starting hand. It can also be referred to when people get extremely lucky with different things/qualities in life. Such as good looks, good at sports etc
