verb. To remove or limit a software feature that everybody likes except the developer.

Originating from the Linux GNOME project, that repeatedly did this despite community complaints, even down to the point where they removed the ability to run programs by double-clicking on them. You have to use terminal now wtf.

"Dude, they gnomed it yesterday. The developer woke up and decided he hated people that used icons."
