drunk dialing

A phone call not just while under the influence as many say but because you ARE under the influence. Alcohol makes people more talkitive and open, therefore calling people to talk is much more likely under the circumstances. The following call (usually from a male to a female) is entitled "drunk dialing"

Defensive Dialing

The act of pulling out your cell phone after seeing someone you know but want to avoid conversing with them. The hope is that they see that you are busy on your phone, so they decide they shouldn't approach you. This must be done before the person notices that you in fact, saw them first.

I saw my old neighbor outside while I was checking the mail today. I pulled out my cell phone and started defensive dialing so that I wouldn't have to get stuck talking to him for the next 10 minutes.

dialing while black

Unwanted cellular phone calls at odd times that are usually the result of an African-American caller who lacks phone ettiquette. They usually ask for someone in a terse tone or claim, or insist, that you called them first without identifying themselves. Caused by poor eyesight, dyslexia, confusion, given a false number at a club, etc. does not bother to save frequently called numbers into their cell phone contacts.

I got another "dialing while black" call on my personal cell phone. She claimed I called her first and when I told her my number she hung-up. Or, some obviously-impared black guy just called me asking for Sheniqua. I told him there was no Sheniqua here and he hung-up abruptly, another "dialing while black" call.
