It sounds like they are just trying to be conversational, but they are really bragging about how whatever you've done or have, they've done/have it more, better, grander, with cooler people, etc.

A: "I have a cat".

B: "Cool, I have two cats".

That guy, Ted, is such a two-catter.

I was telling a story and got two-catted by Ted again.

It was a good evening, but Ted kept two-catting everyone.
