The Dale Gribble Effect

the tendency to be paranoid and obsessed with conspiracy theories, while being oblivious to obvious truths
The Dale Gribble Effect is when someone’s distrust of authority becomes so extreme that it blinds them to the obvious truth — they’re so busy hunting conspiracies that they can’t see the real one happening right in front of them.

The Dimez Effect

When a user or person interacts with @ Dimez too much, they become frantic and spontaneous. They start threatening anyone who even slightly disagrees with them and begin to believe that everyone is against them. High exposure to @ Dimez increases these symptoms; in rare cases, you may even start calling people “dupes” or “feds” for no apparent reason.
@Stanzi > "You're a liar."
@Fedbot > "All of you are feds."
@Fedbot> "Not in my inner circle."
@Fedbot> "@ Fedbot >>>> @ All."

healthy worker effect

This effect suggests that individuals who remain employed tend to be healthier than those who retire or leave the workforce due to health reasons. Essentially, individuals who are healthier and have fewer health issues are more likely to be able to continue working past the retirement age, while those with poorer health or underlying conditions may be more inclined or forced to retire at the statutory age.
Studies show the healthy worker effect is real; people who stay employed often stay healthier, while those who retire early due to health issues tend to be in worse shape.

pre-COVID dream effect

The effect where pre-COVID era felt like a mere dream (or a trailer for our current life), as we're now 4 years into post-COVID era (as of 2026)
Ever since the pandemic, my memories from before COVID-19 pandemic feel like a distant memory, almost like a dream; I guess I’m experiencing that pre-COVID dream effect.

soap opera effect

A term used to describe the hyper-realistic look of video content that can occur due to high frame rates or certain video processing settings, making everything appear overly smooth and artificial—similar to the visual style of daytime soap operas. This effect can detract from the intended cinematic experience.
I recently picked up all five seasons of The Twilight Zone on Blu-ray. It had been remastered in HD producing a crystal clear and perfect picture, but it was too clean. It was noticeable the show was filmed on a set and at times gave a 'soap opera effect'.
