A grouping of vehicles (usually driving on a motorway) that has become 'stuck' precisely at the speed limit due to the presence of a police car travelling on the same road.

Whilst stuck in Panda-traffic, motorists' behaviour changes significantly, mainly due to temporarily no longer being able to break the speed limit. Motorists also become stuck in their lanes and generally behave more courteously compared with 'normal' traffic conditions (ie no police companion).

Journeys that incorporate a Panda-traffic encounter usually last significantly longer than they otherwise would.

Once the Police car has exited the motorway, normal driving conditions resume immediately.

"Sorry I'm late. I would have been here two hours ago but got stuck in Panda-traffic on the M1"

inverse panda

To have contrastingly untanned skin around one's eyes as opposed to the tan on the rest of one's face (usually caused due to regular use of sunglasses or swim goggles) hence the name inverse panda.

Jemma : how did you manage the inverse panda?
