Ish

An exclamation meaning ‘ew’ or ‘yuck.’
Its etymology is likely derived from similar sounding Scandinavian words, so it is mostly commonly found in US communities where immigrants from those countries settled, like Western New York (specifically Jamestown and Chautauqua county), Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
