Larping

LARP was originally an acronym for “live action roleplay”, now a popular internet slang to insult someone who outwardly acts like they are a fan of the topic but is not actually knowledgeable about the subject.

For instance, someone may post about a not widely-known movie they have seen clips of and claim to have watched or be apart of said fandom for attention, but continues to incorrectly assess the characters leading to others calling out their performativity.

Someone larping knowing what larp means: “tbh gng idk know what larp means 😭😭i saw ts on tiktok & its my new vocabulary to reply to comments that got anime pfps of characters i cant name 😭😭😭”

For example

Someone got larped out of their dignity/will to do so

In context larping past tense for larped/larpe is when someone gets exposed/exploited to do something out of their free will

This can also work in gaming trading community iif <a> player doesnt know what theyre trading for

And player <b> larpse them for better items knowing player <b> is taking advantage of player <a>

Player 1: dude did you see that convorsation with adam whiskey he was larping all the com-girls on dollhouse roleplay

Player 2: yeah adam whiskey seems like a very good larper
