Mercia

Also ignorantly called "the midlands", Mercia is the best country in the world, if not occupied by England. Home of William Shakespeare, Robin Hood, Lady Godiva, Yoda, Heavy Metal, Pork Pies, Rugby, among others. Includes places such as the capital Tamworth, Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry, Leicester, Derby, Stoke, Northampton, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Lincoln and Telford.

Mercia has existed since 527AD, and had some cool kings such as Penda the Based and Offa the Great.

Modern Mercia has rather poor reputation due to it's main cities and towns being ugly post-industrial shitholes thanks to the 20th century. Some have began to redeem themselves, like Coventry and Birmingham, but others are a long way off, like Stoke or Corby.

If considering visiting, Alton Towers, Silverstone Raceway, Peak District, Leicester Space Centre, Cadbury World, Black Country Museum, Sherwood Forest, Ironbridge, Cannock Chase, Shropshire and Malvern Hills, Merry Hill, Warwick Castle, North Cotswolds, Lincoln and Lichfield Cathedrals are all popular destinations. Nottingham has great nightlife, Coventry has diverse architecture, Kenilworth, Ludlow and Newark have cool castles, Birmingham has nice food, Leicester is very multicultural, Derby is good for shopping, Rutland has Britain's biggest reservoir, Matlock has cable cars, Chesterfield has a wonky church, Stratford is nice, Lincoln is ye olde yet modern. However, Skegness is terrible and needs buldozing.
