A person who usually lives in a safe, liberal bubble who believes you can run the world as if it's a club designed to keep out poor people. They generally take edge case, nuanced scenarios, or things that can only be done in high trust systems and try to apply them to every situation.

Scream intellectual

An 'intellectual' person that comes from the following social categories or vocations: sports, celebrity, revolutionary, entertaining, academic (social science only), media

I called them a scream intellectual because they seem to have outsized political clout compared to their political critical thinking skills and simply make a lot of political noise as a result. A scream intellectual would be someone like Robert DeNiro and Taylor Swift and Al Sharpton.

A person who has taken 100 level classes at the local junior college in philosophy, psychology, and literature and pretends to be an intellectual by sprinkling obscure references in everyday speech. Somehow a reference to Kierkegaard will suddenly show up when deciding which toppings should go on a pizza. Or some reference they heard from the show Big Bang Theory, without citing the source, about Schrödinger's cat will pop up because they think it will impress everyone.

"Don't be fooled, John is a Community College Intellectual with an inferiority complex."
