I have officially come up with the meaning for the pirate-saying SHIVER ME TIMBERS. Ok get this: Another word for timber is wood. And when you shiver, you're usually cold or afraid. In other words..........

A phrase that girls use, mainly when talking to other girl friends. It's primary use is for when you are asking to be updated on the progress or plans of a situation. And girls use it. Just girls. Mostly girls are the user of this phrase. Girls. Eric? No. Girls. Not Angie though. She's not THAT much of an annoying girl.

With that definition in mind.... (hence):

noising me up

When someone, usually a stranger approaches you and engages you in one-way conversation.

The perpetrator believes that a perfectly reasonable discussion is taking place, however The content of the conversation is typically of little interest to the subject.

"I was standing by the bar and this guy came over and started noising me up about a load of rubbish.... he was cleary shitfaced"

"While I was handing out flyers outside the club a man came over and started noising me up about how House music is rubbish and started Mcing in my ear".
