Both buildings are located near Church Street between Keating and Lavergne Avenues. The name might also refer to parts of the town considered to be "ghetto" by wealthier residents. Just like its namesake, the O Block residential apartments in the neighboring city of Chicago, the name "Sko Block" may also be written as Sko'Block or Sko-Block.
