See appeal to authority and dunning Kruger.

I don’t think Jeremy understood what we were talking about but he was engaging in snobfuscation with random references to Ancient Greek philosophers I’ve never heard of. I couldn’t really get to the bottom of his argument because he kept referring to random quotes and I didn’t know enough to disagree. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about because he had a posh accent. But he couldn’t simply outline his views.
