A phrase born of the fact that Florida’s Governor, Ron DeFlatus, has suggested that the state’s educational curriculum include material on “the benefits of being a slave” so that whitefolk don’t wind up stewing in their own guilt over slaveholding ancestors, thereby garnering him some white votes since there are so many that would vote for such an asshole with this point of view.
The “anti-woke” Florida Governor knows that he can garner strong support from white supremacists by virtue of his ridiculous reinvention of history and this illustrates the benefits of being an asshole in this part of the country.

A state of being in which an individual devotes hours (sometimes days) to their educational well being. This is a non-habitforming ritual, it is rarely practiced. It won't kill you, just give you a headache, carpal tunnel, and may cause eye strain. Being 'a slave to homework' is often considered to be social suicide in refference to college life though it has been known to also result in a degree at the end of one's four years.
student 1: "dude, would you like to roll to the ghetto for this mad phrat party tonight?"
student 2: "I have homework from chem. lab, bro. I can't."
student1: "that sucks to be you."
student 2: "yeah, i'm being a slave to homework"

A person that can pay their bills, has been married, does NOT eat 17,000 ponds of cheese every year, and has a good job.
not me, that’s for sure. a normal human being wouldn’t eat 17,000 pounds of cheese every year and have a wife. not me.
