As a mall declines and the property value decreases, recognizable chain stores leave and niche black-owned businesses take over while half of the mall remains empty. Usually criminal incidents at the mall increase as well. The best thing at black malls are their food courts.
Man, it's so weird hearing about how Capitol Court was the place to be in the 60's and 70's. When I was growing up in the 90's, it was a black mall. And now, it doesn't even exist anymore. Such is life.

People born in the 80's didn't have mall supervision going to a mall at any time of the day, including at night. They didn't have to have another adult or even another person to be with them, even if they weren't working (going to a movie or shopping). Teenagers seem willing to put up with a lot more bullshit these days than they were back in the early 2000's, they do just about anything that anybody tells them to because they seem to think it's right to be obedient under any circumstances, even if what the people making rules/laws is doing is wrong.

These batlings are mostly newcomers to the alternative subcultures, cannot really divide their fashion styles, and usually buy stuff from cheaper mall stores. It is now referred to as Bay fair center and includes a power center as part of its overall package. There are also plans to develop a small transit village adjacent to the mall itself to include high density residential development mixed use business and retail and pedestrian 🚷 friendly streets as well as shuttles and trams allowing direct access to the mall itself.
Bay fair mall is a thriving mixed use center that has been able to adapt to changing times and tastes.
