Often used as a sales term to describe how to motivate a potential buyer to buy based on what other people are doing. Also referred to as "Keeping up with the Jones's."
Salesperson: "I just came from Mr. Jones and he liked my product so much he bought three." This is an example of the Jones Effect.

The Luca effect describes the process of people assimilating with the incredible Luca due to spending an immense amount of time with him. They start picking up his behaviours as for instance smoking or eating a lot of meat and also his type of humour. The effect was observed and proven many times by his closest friends.
