His “friends” laugh at him rather than with him, but his ignorance of human interaction prevents him recognizing this. You could say his girlfriend is using him for money and transportation, but he doesn’t have one. He tries to his face with a hat, worn so many times that there is sweat stain on it— and on his soul. He thinks he’s smart, which shows how dumb he is.
