Assembly Democracy

A model of direct democracy where the sovereign body is the popular assembly—a mass meeting of all citizens in a polity. It’s only feasible for small populations (like a town or a large organization). Decisions are made by majority vote after open debate. It is the purest, most ancient form of democracy, but scales poorly, leading to the use of elected representatives in larger societies.
Example: The New England Town Meeting, where all eligible voters in a town gather annually to debate and vote directly on the budget, laws, and local officials, is a living (though often declining) example of Assembly Democracy in a modern, albeit limited, context.

Assembly-Based Democracy

A synonym for Assembly Democracy, stressing that the assembly is the basis of the entire political system. All other institutions (councils, magistrates, courts) are subordinate to and recallable by the sovereign assembly of the people.
Example: Ancient Athenian democracy was an Assembly-Based Democracy for its citizen body. The Ecclesia (assembly) of all male citizens met regularly to vote on laws, declare war, and elect officials. While not inclusive by modern standards, it placed the assembly at the absolute center of power.

Assembly-Based Society

A political system where the foundational and sovereign institution is the popular assembly—a regular, face-to-face gathering of all citizens in a given area for the purpose of debate, legislation, and administration. This society scales through nested assemblies, where local assemblies send recallable delegates to regional or thematic councils with strictly limited, imperative mandates. It is direct democracy made infrastructural, demanding high participation and thriving on small-scale, decentralized organization. The assembly is the literal and figurative town square where society is continuously made and remade.
Example: Historical Ancient Athens, for its citizen male population, was an Assembly-Based Society with its Ecclesia. A modern speculative vision is found in the Cantonalist movement during the Spanish Civil War, where towns and cities in Aragon and Catalonia were run by worker and neighborhood assemblies, attempting to build a society from the assembly hall outward before being crushed.

ASSECMIPHY

Pronounced: ah-seck-MIH-fee
Origin: Asexual + Comfort + -phy (from philia, meaning love/fondness)

Assecmiphy is a deeply personal form of love that transcends traditional categories like romantic, platonic, familial, or sexual. It is characterized by intense emotional attachment, obsession, and comfort-driven affection—often including desires for closeness, like hugging or kissing—without sexual attraction or desire whatsoever.

This kind of love often arises in people who experience sexual confusion, trauma-based aversion to intimacy, or deep emotional sensitivity. It's a secure, nurturing connection made whole in absence of lust or classification. While common among those navigating discomfort with sexuality, it’s not exclusive—some feel assecmiphy simply because their love centers on closeness, not labels.

✨ This is a love with no label. Just truth.

I don’t love him romantically or sexually—what I feel is pure Assecmiphy: a deep, obsessive comfort that fills my heart without needing labels or lust.
