freeform radio

An approach to radio programming in which a station's management gives the DJ complete control over program content. Freeform shows are as different as the personalities of DJ's, but they share a feeling of spontaneity, a tendency to play music that is not usually heard. Their ideology tends to be liberal or radical, though their program content is not usually overtly political. Many DJ's mix diverse musical styles, engage in monologues between music sets and/or accept callers on the air. The only rules that free-form DJ's are bound by are FCC regulations such as station identification and restrictions on foul language.

Freeform radio is the format of no-format.

Radiohead

1. an overrated chump Britpop band that got great success and critical adulation in the fucking PC 90s and still gets it today. Singer Thom Yorke whines lyrics full of angst and painful references. The other players ain't so hot either. They first hit it big with "The Bends" in 1995 and their 1997 album "O.K. Computer" was declared a "classic", comparable with the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Yeah, right. 2000's "Kid A" has also been declared a "masterpiece", but that just shows what a wasteland popular music has become. That album is just pompous, pretentious crap. Radiohead is a critical "darling" favorite just like that other Britpop dud, Oasis. Ha ha ha.

2. "Radio Head" is a cool, catchy number found on the 1986 album "True Stories" by the unique American New Wave band Talking Heads. The song title inspired the name of the overrated British band.

1. Radiohead gets compared to U2 and Pink Floyd alot and that is a crock of shit. Their music is just artsy-fartsy tedium with whiny vocals. All their albums are boring rubbish.

2. The song "Radio Head" is pumped up by a guest accordion player. Get the "True Stories" CD and check out this and the other fine cuts on this album.

radio amateur

Anyone with a keen interest in amateur radio.
To transmit on amateur bands one must have a license. A license is acquired by taking a course and passing an exam. In the UK, currently it is necessary to first take a Foundation exam (one can then apply for a foundation, or M3 call). Next one must take an Intermediate exam (one can then apply for an intermediate, or 2E0 call). Finally one can take the Advanced course, and exam, and get a full M0 call.
Just because one has only an M3 call does not mean they have any less interest, or are any less qualified to be a part of an amateur community.
