Most drinks have corn sludge in them, not pure sugar.
Corn Sludge has replaced sugar in sodas.

Semi slide

Refers to qualifying for the semi-finals of a bracketed, double elimination tournament and subsequently losing three games/matches (championship semis, consolation semis, and 5th/6th place metal round) to place 6th in the tournament.

Did Joe win his semis match? Nah, he did the semi slide.
