Playlist squatting is when users on YouTube duplicate existing playlists and deceptively insert their own unrelated videos to gain views on them.

I was just jamming to the latest Drake album, but thanks to playlist squatting, I ended up on a fuckin' hour-long Bitcoin lecture.

playlist syndrome

Playlist syndrome is where an album has a tracklist of which seems only fit to be added to your playlist and will not be enjoyed as an entire album. For example, you have lots of tracks you like from an album - and yet, they don't seem to have any coherency, and as such will be added to a playlist (or your liked songs) instead of listening to the full album.

Person 1: Hey, did you hear Joji's new album called Nectar?
Person 2: Yeah dude, but there's no coherency. I think it suffers from playlist syndrome.
