Introverted-Extrovert

A term used by people who don't understand the meaning of either of these words.

Typically used by shy extroverts to describe themselves, mistaking their shyness as introversion.

A person who is neither extroverted (needs external stimulation) or introverted (self-stimulates) is called an ambivert.

Introvert

Someone who considers things that are hidden or not obvious deep.

The introvert was not just considered fun, but stimulating to be around by enough people that he/she was called the toast of many a party. It was never obvious that he/she was an introvert, so people who were not like him/her were considered shallow by the introvert and his/her closest relations.

Wintrovert

Someone who develops extreme hermit-like, anti-social tendencies due to cold and or snow. Wintroverts tend to be social during nice weather so the prolonged shut-in behavior is seasonal more than typical.

Sarah: Hey, we should go grab a post-holiday cocktail soon.
Ken: I would but I become such a wintrovert this time of year. See ya in the spring.

Introvert

Though it seems counter-intuitive, most introverts tend to go to many parties and social gatherings, more than most people even. The mental image some people have of introverts being alone most of the time comes from misinformation about personality that comes from introverts.

An introvert is not somebody by themself, since at times anybody and everybody spends at least some of their time by themself. An introvert is usually the one people think is fun to take to parties, and is often thought to be an extrovert by people who know them, which is usually the way an introvert wants the world to think of them, it's a defense that the introvert thinks will always work on other people.
