normalaise

The deep depression that sinks in when a series of reprehensible concepts have taken hold in the public consciousness of a place to which they were once considered anathema.
I've got normalaise over the fact that this asshole was elected on the promise of banning Muslims.

Normalcy Bias

The bias of assuming that one's own way of being, thinking, and living is normal—and that anything different is deviant, strange, or wrong. Normalcy Bias is the cognitive foundation of prejudice, of ethnocentrism, of every system that treats difference as deficit. It's the assumption that how I live is not just how I live but how people should live, and that those who live differently are not just different but wrong. Normalcy Bias is invisible to those who hold it because their way of being feels not like a choice but like reality. They don't see their own culture; they see the world. Everyone else has a culture; they have normality.
Example: "He couldn't understand why other cultures did things differently. To him, his way wasn't a way; it was just 'normal.' Normalcy Bias meant he never had to examine his own assumptions—they weren't assumptions, they were just reality. Other people were strange; he was just normal."

AFK normalcy

The situation where people who have excessive screen time per day will get an eye, whilst AFK moments are "normalized" (i.e. happens more frequently and feels less painful). For example, in K-12 school campuses where smartphones must be collected during school hours, which is akcually meant to create conducive learning environments and not to "condition" students for unavoidable AFK moments in the foreseeable future.
At school, we have to hand in our phones, which makes AFK normalcy a real thing—everyone's so used to stepping away from their screens that it hardly bothers us anymore!

caffeine normalcy

When you have been needing caffeine to function for a while now, hence you forgot the last time you weren't dependant on black coffee or caffeine pills like Tombocantuxin — even though you were once too young to need caffeine
I can't remember the last time I went a whole day without Tombocantuxin caffeine pills; at this point, caffeine normalcy feels like a requirement just to get out of bed!
