People who do not care about education and think a GED and working at Taco Bell is just fine. They typically do not wear current trends (often hoop earrings, flat to your head pony tails, K-mart camisoles for regular shirts, stupid over sized shoes, belly showing etc). They have babies at 15 and feed off the government. They get mad when people don't cater to their needs and often get in cat fights about their baby daddies.

Get the common street trash mug.An individual who has gained a large following among members of the American Tea Party and/or other quasi-politcal groups. This person is easy to identify due to their constant facial scowl and constant litany of opinions and insults against any people who do not agree with him. This is his/her way of making sure their followers do not start thinking too much...after all it is the Common Sense Guru's job to do the thinking. Sometimes, however, this is problematic, due to the Guru's exclusive reliance on the "common sense", which is unfortunately both uncommon and subjective.
Typical words of a Common Sense Guru:
"We the people need better jobs but we don't want anyone else to have better jobs...'cause we have common sense and they don't"
"Let's stop paying teachers so much...that money needs to go to a better place, like the pocket of your Common Sense Guru"

Guy 1: Ah tough break. Have fun in the Hufflepuff Common Room.
Guy 2: Hey, Ernie MacMillan is great guy and I love all the plants.
Guy 1: Keep telling yourself that.

Get the Wandsworth common mug.Perhaps one of the most inquisitive minds of todays standard, but what are todays standards? You could say that where we are today is far beyond and yet far behind from what we would like to call "average". As technology advances and minds are all set for the future, our future, we grow to forget what we really need. What we need is truth, and there remains one being who has never lost and will never lose the power to skew and warp the disapproving outlooks of the customary american thoughts, and thats me. The voice of the common cock.

Get the the voice of the common cock mug.The term has its origins in the sharing of grazing land in a given community, called "the commons", in Britain. An individual farmer could increase his or her profits by using more of the commons than others. The other farmers would then follow suite, leading to the overexploitation and destruction of that land.
In its modern usage, the phrase is used as a metaphor to the above, referring to the exploitation of a common resource. In game theory it is used as an example of how, in a given situation, every individual can choose to do what is best for their own interests and still produce the worst sum result for the whole. See also: prisoner's dilemna.
The most common and effective way to negotiate this problem is private ownership. Another way is heavy regulation and the imposition of sanctions on violators.
